Do I need a permit outside city limits?

Building permits for new construction outside city limits are not currently required. However, zoning review and approval of all non-agricultural development and property uses within two miles of the city is required. Effective September 19, 2023 Oskaloosa land use zoning was extended two (2) miles beyond city limits and is now in effect.
