The Board of Adjustment has the authority to allow special exceptions and to hear appeals to decisions made in the enforcement of Zoning Chapter 17 of the Oskaloosa Municipal Code. The duties include holding appeals on land use zoning, building permits, sign permits, certificates of zoning compliance and similar development items. The duties of the Board of Adjustment are outlined in Section 17.34.090 of the Oskaloosa Municipal Code and Chapter 414 of the Code of Iowa.
